Twink to Bear

An unusual transformation by Dusty Fuller. Read about it on the Boy Culture and Gay Star News.

Dusty transformed from a twink-ish 20 something year old to a 34 year old bear, gaining 100 lbs in 5 years.

A lot of people criticised him for going through the transformation which once again showed me how judgemental we became. How about just leaving other people to live their lives the way they want? Now I do understand that some of the criticism would have been from people who genuinely care and are concerned about the effects of weight gain on Dusty's health, but a lot of the comments are plain and simple body shaming and that is were the problem lies. We criticise, disrespect and shame people for being overweight, for dressing differently from us, wearing their hair in a certain style, for being gay, trans, or one of the many other colours in the rainbow. Lately we started making people with different political views from us our enemies. How about relaxing for a chance? Instead of being a prick and saying something hurtful to someone else, why not try silence?

I'm not even mentioning race, gender and religion here, in the end it is about respect and if you can't respect others, how do you respect yourself? It is time to start behaving with honour and dignity.

Live and let live ...
